The one great thing about holidays like Halloween, is that kids can literally use all of the easy Halloween crafts that they have learned over the years to completely decorate their homes for parties and trick or treat guests. With just a few supplies, there is a wealth of simple items that can be made, and if you are nice, they may just show you how to make them, too.
Easy Halloween Crafts For Kids Using Clay And Shiny Things
One material that can go a long way when making easy Halloween crafts for kids is modeling clay. Be sure to get the non-toxic kind, because it takes longer for the models to dry out and crack. While you are getting the clay, grab up a selection of shiny things, like marbles, glitter flakes, eyes, and stickers to dress our creations up with. Tubs of clay work best for this, because there will be plenty to go around, and will be softer to work with if kept at room temperature.
Let each kid grab a couple of hunks of modeling clay, in whatever colors they wish. Tell them to go wild, and make what they think is the scariest monster they have ever seen. They can make them big or small, long or lumpy, whatever they want to do. Once the monsters are made, it is time to decorate them with the shiny stuff you brought along. They can also use washable markers to make them even scarier, if they want, and once they are done, you will have a wonderful collection of table centerpieces to scare the pants off of your guests.
For extra fun, have the kids use popsicle sticks, cardboard or paper to build their monsters some homes, or cages to hide in when the people come. This way, they can make a scary home for their scary monster to show off during the party, too.
