There are loads of ways that you can make your own kids costumes—and they're fun too! Not just for you, but for the little ones as well. Of course, they can't always use all of the materials, but they can definitely give you a hand with their own costumes! Don't look at the big department stores for costumes—unless there's a sale. You can buy kids costumes from loads of places other than that. You can check discount stores, thrift stores, Amazon, ebay, or even at online shops. And, the best part is that you might find a few less expensive kid costumes right off the bat! Make sure that they are in good shape...and don't be too put off if minor repairs are needed. Usually a hot glue gun (which you can get at the Dollar Tree) will suffice until you can have it properly sewn up, and even then, it might last longer! Keep that in mind whilst looking for kid costumes!

A Cheap and Easy Dog Halloween Costume

To make this cheap toddler or kids’ Halloween costume, purchase a brown sweatshirt and sweat pants. Pair them with brown shoes and brown socks. Get a pair of brown mittens and glue four black circles made of felt onto the palms of the mittens to make the dog’s paws. Cut long, oval-shaped ears out of brown felt and secure them to a brown headband with fabric glue. Finish the Halloween costume with black face paint. Apply a sizeable circle to the child’s nose and then small dots on each side of the nose. This adorable kids’ costume idea makes a cheap and easy way to let your child celebrate Halloween.

Butterfly Halloween Costume for Girls

One of the best Halloween costume ideas for a little girl is a butterfly. It is one of the cheapest Halloween costumes to make and it is easy to put it together.

For this great kid’s costume, purchase some black tights, a black leotard, and black ballet shoes for the butterfly’s body. Buy a black headband and make antennae to attach to it by gluing one black pom-pom on each of two pieces of stiff floral wire. You can make butterfly wings for this Halloween costume by forming metal hangers into the shape of wings. Secure colored material onto the hangers with fabric glue.
